The Deputy Secretary in the Department of Education visits RSA
Yesterday we were pleased to host a visit from Mr Ronnie Armour, the recently appointed deputy secretary in the department of education. Mr Armour was taken on a tour of the learning and teaching facilities by the head boy and head girl before being treated to some beautiful music by pupils in the Reid Hall. After that the head boy and head girl of boarding escorted him on a tour of the boarding facilities and he then met with a group of pupils to discuss school life at the Royal School and their views on education generally. Mr Armour then met with members of the senior leadership team and representatives of the board of governors to discuss the current challenges facing education including the need for realistic funding and the training of more specialist teachers. While accepting that the education sector currently faces unprecedented challenges Mr Armour was extremely impressed by the many aspects of extensive provision at RSA.
