Golf in school takes the format of a team of 8 pupils (Boys and Girls) from Years8 to 11 entering the annual Darren Clarke Schools Golf League.
The golf team would play a minimum of 3 matches against other schools on a round robin basis with the eventual winners qualifying for the province wide quarter finals .
The school has won the overall title once in 2008 and regularly qualifies for the quarter final and semi final stages
As a condition of entry schools in the league are asked to fund-raising for the Darren Clarke Foundation which will be giving money to local cancer charities. Each participating school is asked to raise at least £100 and the pupils who raise the greatest amount of money will be given golf prizes. Last year this included rescue clubs, putters and autographed visors from Darren.
To date the school has raised well over £700 for this worthy cause
